Dr. Kayla Bergeson earned her bachelor’s degree in animal science from the University of Minnesota in 2019 and went on to complete her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Minnesota in 2023. During both her undergraduate and veterinary training, she gained extensive hands-on experience working as a veterinary assistant, triage technician, and emergency room technician at several veterinary clinics and emergency hospitals across the Twin Cities.
After veterinary school, Dr. Bergeson completed a one-year small animal emergency mentorship program at MedVet in Cincinnati, OH, where she continued on as an Emergency Veterinarian before returning to Minnesota. Her professional interests include emergency medicine, toxicology, and supporting both pets and their people during times of crisis.
At home, Dr. Bergeson shares life with Bronze, her retired racing greyhound. Outside of veterinary medicine, she enjoys reading—her personal library holds nearly 500 books—along with lyra and aerial arts, playing Dungeons & Dragons, writing, singing, video games, hiking, and traveling.
