Birch Lake Animal Hospital has a 30-year reputation in the White Bear Lake community.
They are known for the great care they provide for both pets and clients. Their hospital’s mission is to keep pets happy, healthy, and pain-free for as long as possible.
In July of 2017, Dr. Tim Kuhnmuench bought Birch Lake Animal Hospital. He obtained his degree in veterinary medicine from Colorado State University in 2012. He enjoys meeting new people and forging friendships, as well as finding ways to create life-long health and wellness solutions for people and their pets. In addition to Dr. Kuhnmuench, Birch Lake Animal Hospital has five associate veterinarians including Dr. Howe, Dr. Haase, Dr. Jensen, Dr. Rauk-Mitchell, and Dr. Najarian.
Some special services their hospital offers includes digital dental and full body radiographs, an in-house lab, boarding for cats and dogs, and acupuncture and laser therapy.
combines Chinese healing techniques with traditional Western medicine. It harnesses a pet’s own natural healing abilities and can treat many different conditions including arthritis, intervertebral disc disease, gastrointestinal disorders, muscle spasms, inflammation, traumatic injuries, allergic dermatitis, respiratory problems, and more! Acupuncture works by using very small needles to stimulate nerve endings located in different points of the body. When the needle is placed at an acupuncture point, it triggers complex reactions that stimulate the body’s self-healing properties. Though needles may sound scary, the process is actually minimally invasive and virtually painless. Dr. Kuhnmuench is a Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist and would be more than happy to discuss this effective method for managing pain with any pet owners who are interested in this alternative approach to helping their pets heal.
is also a unique service that Birch Lake Animal Hospital offers. If your pet suffers from chronic pain, laser therapy may alleviate the pain and improve mobility issues. Like acupuncture, laser therapy mostly relies on the body’s ability to heal itself. Laser therapy is completely safe, non-invasive, and painless. It consists of a handheld device emitting light particles at varying frequencies to interact with a pet’s tissues at the cellular level. The cells will then metabolize the light particles, resulting in increased cell production. This boosts cell repair which means decreased pain and inflammation for the pet.
Healing pets and keeping them healthy throughout their lives is their team’s greatest passion. Their dedicated, experienced team members genuinely enjoy giving their full attention to the four-legged patients that walk into their animal hospital. They strive to exceed their clients’ expectations at every visit.
