Amber Vitalo, DVM, DACVECC, received her veterinary degree from the University of Minnesota in 2018. She then went on to complete a small animal rotating internship and an emergency and critical care residency at the University of Florida. She became a board-certified criticalist in November 2022.
Upon completing her undergrad degree at the University of San Diego, Dr. Vitalo developed a passion for animals and veterinary medicine while volunteering at a local animal shelter. Prior to attending vet school, Dr. Vitalo was a technician at a general practice for three years in her home state of California. During veterinary school, Dr. Vitalo worked at AERC as a veterinary
assistant.
Dr. Vitalo is thrilled to be back in the Twin Cities with her husband, their Pitbull, Bear, and African leopard tortoise, Tortellini. Her husband is a music teacher and has inspired her to learn how to play the drums now that she is done with her residency. In her spare time, she enjoys binge-watching crime and law TV series as well as sports, traveling, cooking, live music, and trying new food.
