Alexis O’Connell, DVM, grew up in Buffalo, New York and received a bachelor’s degree in Animal Science from Michigan State University. She then attended veterinary school at the University of Minnesota.
Between undergrad and vet school, Dr. O’Connell worked as a surgery assistant at a 24-hour emergency hospital. Throughout college, she sought out opportunities to work with companion exotic animals and zoo animals. After veterinary school, Dr. O’Connell completed
a one-year small animal rotating internship at a specialty hospital outside of San Francisco.
Dr. O’Connell is passionate about emergency medicine, exotic animal medicine, and surgery. In her free time, she enjoys biking, hiking, reading, and travelling.
