Surgery Case and Anesthesia Technician
Lacey graduated with an Applied Science degree from Bel-Rea Institute of Veterinary Technology in Denver, CO in 2004. She then went on to complete a Bachelor of Science degree in Veterinary Technology. She has worked in a variety of hospitals – from primary care practice to emergency to specialty referral medicine. Luckily for us, and fitting to her position as Surgery Case Technician, she has always enjoyed working with board-certified surgeons the most! She also loves pocket pets; she says she enjoys “caring for the cute little teeny guys!”
Lacey’s pets are her children. She adopted a tabby cat, Maddie Cupcake, while attending college in Colorado. She has been Lacey’s faithful companion for her veterinary career thus far. Allie is her adorable and feisty mini dachshund. Lacey says, “She has a huge personality in that little teeny body! She certainly thinks she’s the boss of the house.” Last but not least, Taran is Lacey’s “mama’s boy” black lab. She adopted him at two years of age from a hospital at which she worked. According to Lacey, he’s “the best big brother Allie could ask for. They do everything together!”
When she’s not in AERC’s Surgery Department, Lacey enjoys riding her bike around Medicine Lake and the Luce Line Trail. The variety of wildlife, the smell of the lake, and the sunshine are big stress relievers for her. She also loves to read – and on weekends, she can often be found sitting lakeside with a bowl of fruit, a mug of coffee, and a good book!
