Chief Marketing Officer

Heidi has worked for AERC for fourteen years in a management capacity. Much of her job includes writing, as well as editing, clinic publications. Her undergraduate degree in English and a distinct finesse for clarifying written communication make her well-suited to such tasks. Heidi received an MBA in May, 2010, and became a Certified Veterinary Practice Manager in August, 2013, a designation that is difficult to achieve and has been given to less than 300 people worldwide.

Heidi enjoys rock climbing, cross-country skiing, reading, and watching movies, but her true love is rock climbing. She and her husband, Erik, share their home with their two sons, and two dogs, George and Sally.

Although Heidi has had the occasion to have many of her pets treated at Animal Emergency & Referral Center of Minnesota, her very elderly cat Henry was hospitalized for three days for renal failure. She experienced first-hand the fear of having a dying pet in the clinic, and then had to euthanize Henry in June of 2011. She uses that experience to inform her role as Pet Loss Support Group Facilitator at AERC. The support group meets the fourth Tuesday of every month from 7-8:30pm at our Oakdale facility.
