Frank Swartzel, DVM, completed his undergraduate studies in Environmental Science at The Ohio State University and later obtained his doctorate of veterinary medicine from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine.  After a year of clinical rotations at the University of Minnesota, he completed a small animal medicine and surgery internship at Iowa State University.  Prior to joining AERC, Dr. Swartzel was an emergency clinician at the Veterinary Referral Center of Colorado in Denver.

Dr. Swartzel’s varied professional interests include metabolic emergencies, trauma, toxicities and client education.  Outside of work, Dr. Swartzel enjoys cooking, rugby, reading, biking and rooting on his Ohio State Buckeyes.
