Steve Shadwick, DVM, DACVIM, founded the internal medicine department in 2011, and Kate Jones, DVM, DACVIM, was added as our second internist in August of 2017. 

Dr. Shadwick and Dr. Jones, assisted by their outstanding team of certified veterinary technicians, diagnose, treat, and manage complex medical problems.  The Internal Medicine Department also heads the I-131 Hyperthyroid Treatment Center for Cats at AERC

Additionally, Dr. Shadwick and Dr. Jones can assist with the management of many types of uncommon or difficult to manage diseases and disorders.

Internal Medicine Veterinary Services include a variety of advanced laboratory testing, diagnostic imaging (including x-ray, ultrasound, CT, and high-field MRI), and procedures, including endoscopic procedures.
