Imaging

Whether it’s to determine the extent of a traumatic injury or the root cause of pain or illness, imaging is an important diagnostic tool. We have the expertise and the technology for high-quality imaging and speedy diagnosis.

Our advanced diagnostic tools include x-ray, ultrasound, CT and high-field MRI. With all of these tools on-site at our Oakdale facility, our board-certified specialists can give you the answers you need quickly along with results you can trust.

Our imaging team interprets the referral imaging studies, including radiographs, ultrasounds, CT Scans, and MRI examinations, 24/7/365.

  • X-Ray – x-rays are typically used to image bones such as in the event of a broken bone or a stress fracture. They can also be used to diagnose conditions like arthritis or kidney stones.
  • Ultrasound – Ultrasound is used to get a live view of what’s going on inside your pet’s body. It’s a great tool for guiding biopsies so we can get to exactly the right spot.
  • CT Scan – Our CT machine captures very clear images. The scans are typically very quick, which means your pet will be under anesthesia for a shorter period of time. The machine can even accommodate giant breeds, such as Great Danes and St. Bernards.
  • High Field MRI – MRI uses a powerful magnetic field, radio frequency pulses, and a computer to produce images of organs and other soft tissues. “High field” means that our MRI takes very detailed images, which enables accurate diagnosis of neurological, spinal, and musculoskeletal conditions.

If your pet needs an MRI, CT scan or an ultrasound, it's best to get a referral from your family veterinarian. You or your veterinarian can call (651) 501-3766 to schedule an appointment with one of our specialists.

If your pet is experiencing an emergency and requires imaging, no appointment is necessary.
