Missy Carpentier, DVM, DACVIM (Neurology) is a board-certified veterinary neurologist and neurosurgeon who received specialized training from both the University of Missouri and Veterinary Specialty Services.
Here at AERC, Dr. Carpentier has a High-field MRI that enables highly accurate diagnoses of neurological, spinal, and musculoskeletal conditions. In addition, she performs electrodiagnostics, spinal fluid analysis, and CT when appropriate.
Examples of diseases that would be appropriate for referral to veterinary neurologist include:
- Intervertebral disc disease
- Lumbosacral disease
- Encephalitis, meningitis, or myelitis
- Myopathy and polyneuropathy
- Neoplasia of the nervous system
- Vestibular disease
In addition, Dr. Carpentier provides 24/7 neurosurgical services.
Dr. Carpentier and her husband own, train and manage approximately fifty Alaskan Huskies. The Huskies race in competitive sled dog racing throughout the United States! She has also served as a puppy raiser for the development of future guide dogs for Guiding Eyes for the Blind.
