AERC Lecture Series for New Clinic Owners: Human Resources

May 25, 2018

Are you a new clinic owner, or perhaps you are a veterinarian hoping to purchase a practice in the near future? We want to help provide you with the knowledge and tools necessary for success in today’s business world.

To that end, we are hosting a New Owner Lecture Series, to be held quarterly throughout 2018. Each subject in the series is from noon – 3:30pm. Subjects are taught by experts in the field – CPAs, Consultants, CVPMs and MBAs! Attendance is limited to 30 participants who are either owners of a clinic for less than five years, or intending to purchase within five years. Other sessions will cover Finance, Operations, and Marketing. (See other listings on our Education Calendar for details on these topics.) RSVP today!

The second lecture in the series will cover Human Resources. Human Resources can be a complex and confusing topic, and your staff will know if you’re not well-versed in the ins and outs. Leah Wilson, CVT, Human Resources Manager at AERC will cover solving payroll headaches and employee  benefits. Kristi Johnson, Territory Manager at Henry Schein Animal Health, will discuss creating a positive culture and effective communication. All attendees will be provided with an abbreviated DISC assessment to help them understand their individual communication style better. Nels Dyste, Insurance Advisor for Dyste Williams, will provide information on employee liability coverage, professional liability considerations, and data breach liability.

Lunch will be provided.

Please RSVP by email to or via phone at (651) 501-3759, ext 114.
