Laurel graduated from the veterinary technician program at the Medical Institute of Minnesota in 1979.
She is a Certified Veterinary Technician in both Minnesota and Wisconsin. Laurel spent several years in a
small animal clinic where she was able to develop her clinical skills and passion for dentistry. She joined
the Dentistry and Oral Surgery Service at the Animal Emergency and Referral Center of Minnesota in
2013. Laurel is one of only a few CVTs nationwide that holds her Veterinary Technician Specialty (VTS) in

Laurel lives on a small hobby farm in western Wisconsin with her husband and an assortment of animals
including: pygmy goats, sheep, three dogs, a cat and a variety of fish. She enjoys gardening, camping,
fishing, kayaking and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Laurel has also fostered
countless kittens for her local Humane Society.
There is nothing in the world quite like the experience of having a pet share our lives. Pets are there for us when we return home from work and school with wagging tails, cold noses, and total acceptance.
