Living Wage: Why It's Important to Us

Animal Emergency & Referral Center of Minnesota is committed to providing a minimum of a living wage for all of our team members. Living wage reflects what an individual needs to earn in order to have a decent standard of living, including shelter, utilities, nutrition, transportation, medical care, childcare, some recreation, and one class yearly to upgrade an education.   The living wage differs from the minimum wage in that the latter is set by law and can still fail to meet the requirements listed above. The amount that must be earned per hour to achieve a living wage is variable from region to region. Currently, AERC's lowest paid employee's hourly rate is 13% above the living wage hourly rate.

Thinking of Moving to Minnesota? Here’s Why You Should!

Minnesota is a great state with a lot to offer! With 11,000 lakes, Minnesota has more shoreline than California, Hawaii, and Florida combined. Our summers are packed with festivals, and as for winter, we have more cross-country ski trails than any other urban area in the country. People come from all over the world to be treated at the Mayo Clinic. We gave the world Prince and Bob Dylan. And if that’s not enough, we’re the birthplace of the original Zombie Pub Crawl.

Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Positions

Animal Emergency & Referral Center of Minnesota is actively seeking to hire a full-time emergency veterinarian, part-time emergency veterinarians, a board-certified or board-eligible ophthalmologist, and a board-certified or board-eligible surgeon.  Join our well-established team of outstanding emergency doctors, boarded specialists, seasoned specialty/certified technicians, excellent support personnel and experienced administrators. We offer excellent compensation and benefit packages, and our company culture places emphasis on work/home/family integration.

AERC is an independently-owned, AAHA accredited specialty and emergency hospital. We have two locations in the Mpls/St. Paul metro area, and we are the only Minnesota referral facility 100% owned by local veterinarians. We've been serving our loyal referral base for over 30 years.

Our practice is currently supported by specialists in emergency and critical care, internal medicine, surgery, neurology, cardiology, dentistry, dermatology, and radiology. We have a beautiful, recently-expanded facility of 25,000 square feet which will provide you with the space and tools necessary to provide the highest level of medicine.

Our facility features a luxury I-131 treatment suite complete with webcam access. We also have an Imaging Center that includes DR, ultrasound, CT, and high-field MRI. In addition, we have endoscopy, rhinoscopy & arthroscopy, a full in-house lab, and a rehabilitation department with an underwater treadmill. Our expansion also provided new, dedicated space for all of our specialists, plus three brand new surgical suites and an anesthesia department.

Come be a part of this exciting growth with us!
