Animal Emergency & Referral Center of Minnesota is actively seeking to hire a board-certified or board-eligible ophthalmologist, emergency veterinarians, full-time Emergency/ICU veterinary technicians (all shifts), and part-time Emergency/ICU veterinary technicians. 

Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Positions

Join our well-established team of outstanding emergency doctors, boarded specialists, seasoned specialty/certified technicians, excellent support personnel and experienced administrators. Our practice is currently supported by specialists in emergency and critical care, dentistry, internal medicine, surgery, cardiology, radiology, and dermatology. Our fabulous new 8,600 sq ft facility features a luxury I-131 treatment suite complete with web cam access; Digital Imaging Department including CT, endoscopy, rhinoscopy & athroscopy; full in-house lab & pharmacy; and a Sports & Strength (rehab) Department.

We are committed to offering progressive diagnostics, top-notch medical and surgical patient care, and excellence in client communication and service in a compassionate and accommodating manner. Emergency Veterinarians: These veterinary professionals must have a DVM or similar veterinary degree, a valid Minnesota veterinary license, qualify for a DEA license, and be highly competent in small animal medicine and surgery, including non-traditional pets.

We rely on our veterinarians to educate our clients in a friendly manner and speak to the client's level of understanding. Our vets must have excellent people skills especially in regards to upset or grieving clients. They are also expected to act as a team leader on shifts in a professional and supportive manner, setting a positive example and demonstrating enthusiasm toward AERC, its policies and personnel.

All applicants will be expected to be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

Ophthalmologist: Animal Emergency & Referral Center of Minnesota is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Ophthalmologist for our rapidly growing 24-hour AAHA-certified emergency/referral practice. Our two locations have served our communities, referring veterinarians, clients and patients for over 30 years. Currently we do not have an Ophthalmologist on our team, so this is an outstanding opportunity for a highly motivated doctor to build a much-needed service and be the premier center in this area.

Certified Veterinary Technician Positions

The function of the veterinary technicians is to be an extension of the veterinarians and provide excellent care to both the clients and patients. The individuals we hire will be dynamic and resourceful with an interest in career development and the promotion of a team atmosphere. We offer competitive pay and we want to hire individuals interested in joining us for a long-term employment relationship.

Part-time and full-time emergency/ICU veterinary technician: Shifts for the emergency/ICU veterinary technician range from 8-10 hours in length. All team members must be available to work nights, weekends and holidays. Individuals should be Certified Veterinary Technicians, have an understanding of critical care, qualified technical skills and be motivated to work in a team atmosphere that invites your contributions. At least two years of technician experience is a must.

Full-time overnight emergency/ICU veterinary technician: Shifts for the emergency/ICU veterinary technician range from 10-12 hours in length. Shifts are overnight shifts. All team members must be available to work weekends and holidays, as well. Individuals must be Certified Veterinary Technicians, be experienced in critical care, have qualified technical skills and be self-motivated.  At least two years of technician experience is a must; emergency veterinary experience is preferred. Our clinic has a team atmosphere that invites your contributions.

Client Service Representative

The primary function of the Client Service Representative is to provide excellent client service through passionate and professional handling of a variety of client interactions, as well as the daily operations related to the client’s first impression of the organization.

A minimum of two years of customer service experience and/or training beyond high school (service industry, front desk, cashiering, or call center experience) is required. Veterinary experience is a plus. Qualified candidates will possess exceptional interpersonal, problem-solving, and organizational skills, be computer proficient, and able to multitask and reprioritize as needed.

IT Systems Administrator

AERC is hiring an IT Systems Administrator. The Systems Administrator manages and tunes in-house computer software systems and network connections to ensure high levels of availability and security of the supported business applications. This individual also participates in the planning and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure system provisioning and maintenance that is consistent with company goals, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements.  This is a non-animal-related position.
